Accessibility Evaluation
A UI/UX accessibility evaluation of a Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine (MCASOM) webpage, reviewed against WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria.
PROJECT
A single Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine (MCASOM) webpage, evaluated as a standalone UI/UX accessibility review. The measuring stick was WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the conformance level most institutional policies and procurement requirements point to. This is technical writing work: a finding only becomes useful once it is written down precisely enough for someone to act on.
SCOPE
The review covered visual, navigation, and interaction barriers to inclusive digital access. Each finding was tied to the specific WCAG criterion it failed, then paired with remediation guidance written so the person doing the fix knows what to change.
DELIVERABLE
The work was delivered as a structured Accessibility Evaluation report: findings, the criteria they fail, and remediation guidance in one document. It is the same deliverable offered as an accessibility evaluation in our service catalog.
OUTCOME
The evaluation documented accessibility findings and proposed remediation guidance for review. Selected improvements then went to a separate feasibility assessment. Why that written record is worth more than a scan report is something we have written about at length.
